Come meet Mark Sutton

OUR MINISTER

Mark was baptized into Christ in 1985 and called to be a minister of the gospel of Christ in January 2020 by the members of Foster Road Church of Christ.

Mark was often the song leader for the church where he would passionately lead the congregation to make music in their heart for our Lord. And for a short time he was our youth minister. He is now the full time minister for the church.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and pursed a master of education degree with aspirations of teaching high school mathematics but God had other plans for him and lead him down a path to lead others by teaching them the word of God.

As a student of the Bible and exegetical teaching, Mark believes that contextual knowledge of scripture strengthens Christian faith and ensure proper application of the Word to personal circumstances and challenges.

When the Word of God is taught and preached transformation happens. Come, let us see “What saith the scriptures”. Mark is very good at delivering the word of God to our congregation. He is a very humble man, easy to approach and is tireless in his work to help guide you to God and answer any questions you may have about the faith.

Being such a kind, warm, friendly and approachable person, Mark is extremely easy to build a friendship with and in turn develop a close relationship with God.

"How God Cultivates Faith"

The fourth chapter of Daniel finds king Nebuchadnezzar boasting about his accomplishments as ruler over an empire that God gave him. Success, even temporary success, can create an attitude of boasting as one who was the sole and primary source of everything necessary for success. He would soon realize that his accomplishments had more to do with what God allowed instead of personal attributes. God gave him a spirit of mental illness, the same as what Daniel interpreted from the king's dream. Nebuchadnezzar sought to elevate himself but learned that humility produced far greater joy. The chapter ended with Daniel making this proclamation in verse 37.

"Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble." God is an awesome God!
